By accessing or using TextComparing (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use the Service.
TextComparing is a browser-based text and code comparison tool provided free of charge. It allows users to compare text, source code, and supported document formats (PDF, DOCX) entirely within their own browser, with no server-side processing of user content.
You may use TextComparing for any lawful purpose, including:

The TextComparing interface, branding, design, and source code are the intellectual property of the maintainers. The underlying open-source libraries (diff, pdfjs-dist, Mammoth, Next.js, React) are subject to their respective open-source licenses. Text content you load into the tool remains your own property; we claim no rights over it.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of inaccuracies. Diff results are generated algorithmically and should be verified before being relied upon in critical workflows.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the maintainers of TextComparing shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, or business opportunities. Because all processing is local and no user data is stored, our liability for data-related claims is inherently limited.
TextComparing loads fonts and icons from Google Fonts and a PDF worker script from Cloudflare CDN. These third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their content, uptime, or data practices.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any such modification, suspension, or discontinuation.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the primary maintainer resides, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
We may revise these Terms of Service at any time by updating this page and the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
